 Thank you!

How does a private session work with you?

We meet online or in person and you first have time to talk about what is important to you in this context. We usually start with some breathing exercises from Prāṇa Yoga. Then we will immerse ourselves in the sound together by singing simple sargams (melody sequences from Nāda Yoga) or individual tones. This is a warm-up for working with mantras, so to speak. I will suggest a mantra to you, which we will then sing together for a while so that we can feel the effect.

You will then work with this mantra on your own for a while and, if you want, you can come back to me after a while and reflect with me on how you felt about it. However, I will also be available to you during this time.

What happens to you during a mantra event?

We meet either online or at a location such as a yoga studio. We usually sit in a circle or semicircle and prepare for the mantras by making certain sounds from Nāda Yoga, a warm-up for the voice.

We then usually sing/chant a mantra for a longer period of time in different melodic sequences (based on Indian rāgas), which allows the effect of the mantra to unfold particularly well.

Such an event usually lasts 90 minutes.

Is there a discount if I can't pay for private lessons?

I often offer group mantra singing on a donation basis, and I often donate the donated proceeds myself.

As I also need time for preparation and follow-up for private individual sessions (for which I do not charge you), I cannot offer this on a donation basis. I have also invested a lot of time and money in a really thorough training, from which you can benefit.

But I would like to help you, even if you have little money. So please feel free to talk to me!

I "can't" sing, can I still join in?

Absolutely!

The events that I call "mantra singing" are not about sounding beautiful. It's more about what the sound of the mantras and tones does to you.

It's much more important to go inside and feel what's happening than to pay attention to the sound of your voice.

In what language are the mantras?

The mantras I work with are mostly in Sanskrit, a language that is thousands of years old. It has a particularly intense, energetic effect, especially if you work with one and the same mantra for a long time. Correct pronunciation is important to achieve the right effect. I always show you the correct Sanskrit pronunciation in my lessons and events; this is very important to me out of respect for the culture.

If you would like to find out more about it, you can also take a Sanskrit course.

Do I have to be religious to participate?

No, the mantras come from an area where Hinduism developed, but some of them are much older.

We don't worship gods, but open ourselves to principles that can be called spiritual, but which are basically forms of our normal life.

For example, we open ourselves to the "creative principle", the energy that created us and everything around us. You can call it God, energy or whatever you like.

We generally use terms that also appear in Hinduism, but you can understand them in a general way.
